I hope everyone survived their first Real Food Challenge Weekend. I’ll be honest, I went out to lunch on Saturday and didn’t follow through. The problem was that I went out, I was really hungry, and I didn’t consider all of my menu options. I am confident that had I fully considered all my options I wouldn’t have been in that situation. I have learned my lesson for next time and we are nearly half-way through our 10 day challenge. Later this afternoon, I will be sharing more meal plans and my grocery list to carry us through the rest of the week.
What you’ll need:
1 T. honey
1/2 jar yogurt
3 T. milk
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend on the lowest mix setting. Once thoroughly combined, taste test your smoothie to be sure it suits your taste. You may need to add more honey. Enjoy.
Results: Adding banana to smoothies adds great flavor and nicely compliments the texture of a smoothie. I only use half a banana because that great banana flavor can also be slightly overpowering. The flavor of the blackberries doesn’t shine through much, but I like adding berries when I can for their nutrients. I also feel that if you add too many blackberries, their bitter flavor could come out giving your smoothie a less pleasant bitter aftertaste.
