Upcycling is the process of converting old materials or products into something new and useful. Essentially, it is a creative way of reusing something old. Upcycling is one aspect of sustainable living we haven’t experimented with much. I’ve always felt that I didn’t have the time, tools, or resources. But I have great plans for this aspect of self-sufficient living and I hope to branch out after the move.

Since this isn’t an area I have much experience in, I can’t give great advice. What I can share are a few of my inspirations. The most helpful resources have been other blogs and Pinterest. As I conclude my adventures with the different aspects of self-sustainable living, I must reflect. Self-sufficient living is a never ending cycle of learning, growing, practicing, and improving. I have come to understand that becoming self-sufficient isn’t a week, month, year, or decade long process. It is a life long journey of learning and growth. It allows me to be a life-long learner and teacher and it makes me so happy to be able to share our efforts along the journey.
