You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.
This may not be the book most adults think of when they look for inspiration, but I love Dr. Seuss’ Oh the Place You’ll Go. It does such an excellent job of sharing the ups and downs of life . And as my husband, dog, turtles, and I are loaded down in the truck waving good bye to Denver and hello to a new adventure, I can’t help but read this story and smile.
So, today is our day! We’re making the move from our 600 sq. ft. house with a 168 sq. ft. yard to a more spacious 1 acre lot! I can’t even express our feelings of excitement.
The new house is going to provide us the room to grow (and no, I’m not talking family size), but grow mentally and physically. So much of this move will be an adventure. Our new location is serviced by propane and well water only. There is no trash or recycling removal, and finding access to internet wasn’t easy. Every day will require us to be a bit more dependent on ourselves and force us to be slightly more creative than the days passed. We are being thrown into a hands-on life and we couldn’t be more excited. Let the adventures begin.
