Our lives have taken a wild turn towards crazy.

Two months in to my new job and I still have absolutely no routine.

To make matters worse, I got a bit too excited over a potential house and put money down on a dumpy rental just because it would shorten our 100 mile daily commute…only to return after 2 nights without sleep and realize we could not live there. A rushed drive to the bank, one phone call later, and the problem was solved.

But we’re still busy, sleep deprived, and loving live! Despite my happiness with the world, I miss cooking, I miss The Homespun Journal, and I miss all of our crazy DIY projects.

We’ll get back on it soon!

I’m sharing a favorite recipe for a convenient snack today because two weeks ago, I made this to help make up for the breakfasts I hadn’t packed and snacks I didn’t buy. We originally packed this as trail food but it has quickly become a pantry regular with its long shelf life and easy assembly.

This filling treat serves as a meal or snack, depending on the day, but is perfect for those busy weeks that require a steady sprint. Enjoy!

Ingredients
  • 2 cups peanut butter
  • 2 cups powdered milk
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ¾ cup slivered almonds
  • ½ cup shelled sunflower seeds
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Mix everything together.
  2. Roll into individual serving size balls.
  3. Store in an airtight container.
