5 Easy Steps to Clean Silver

8 Flares 8 Flares ×

I have to admit, I’m having a hard time believing Thanksgiving has already come and gone!

And while many people are spending their post Thanksgiving days shopping for the best holiday deal, I couldn’t help but look for ways to rejuvenate a few things I already own.

The last several months, I have been looking at my collection of tarnished jewelry hanging from the wall. It was a sad sight. I finally decided it was time to give these favorites a fresh look.

Surprisingly, it only involved a quick 5 step process that uses basic kitchen supplies to clean my tarnished silver.

Step 1: Line a glass baking dish with aluminum foil and lay your pieces inside.

Step 2: Boil enough tap water to cover all the pieces.

Step 3: Sprinkle the pieces with baking soda.

Step 4: Pour the boiling water over the baking soda covered pieces.

Step 5: Let the baking soda and water do their magic. Use a wooden spoon to move things around if you need to. The more each piece touches the aluminum foil, the cleaner it will get.

And it’s that easy, what will you be cleaning this weekend?
