The Homespun Journal is just a little something that takes place down an old dirt road in the middle of the desert. My husband and I are constantly pursuing new projects, and right now, it just so happens that you are reading one.

The Homespun Journal is the documented effort of my husband and I working toward being as self-sufficient as possible. We have a big dream of truly living off-the-grid someday. We buy local, cook our own meals, build our own furniture, grow our own food, live frugally, and try to produce as little waste as possible. Essentially, we live by a tangled web of the things we value: great food, a healthy environment, good company, lasting love, and a happy life.

The only important thing worth knowing about us is the fact that we love sharing what we do with you and we love receiving feedback.

I hope everyone enjoys reading the journal of our journey as much as I enjoy sharing the adventure. Thanks for stopping by!

It’s great, Brooke. I love both the concept and the execution. (and you, of course.) I think I’m in for some delicious learning. Hugs to Beer and Poetry, too.

I like the updated site. :)

I am truly amazed. I’m glad you don’t live in the northwoods–you’d probably be weaving chairs out of tree branches.
    Love, Grandma Rosie
