A little bit salty, a little bit sweet...and maybe a little bit addicting.
  • 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 1 t. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup baking cocoa
  • ¾ t. baking soda
  • 1 t. fine sea salt
  • ⅓ cup miniature chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup toasted nuts, chopped (optional)
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Set aside.
  3. Cream together the butter and sugars in the bowl of a stand mixer fixed with the paddle attachment.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla until well combined.
  5. With the mixer on low, slowly add the dry ingredient mix.
  6. Once all the dry ingredients have been absorbed, add the chocolate chips and nuts.
  7. Working with about 1 t. of batter at a time, roll into small balls and arrange on baking sheets.
  8. Bake 8-10 minutes and cool on a wire cooling rack. Cool completely and store in an airtight container.
